My Upcoming Shows is your own personalised weekly TV guide, containing only shows you've chosen as favourites or scheduled to record.

My Shows

My Shows is where you can manage, delete or change settings for all your series recordings, favourites, keyword recordings and keyword favourites.

Seeing a show's details and recording options

To see the description, recording options and other details, simply click on the show's name in the main list.

Series Record

Series Recordings let you automatically record your favourite programs whenever they're aired. Our series record is smart enough to know when a show's time-slot changes or when a show comes back from being off air. Just hit series record and watch your library fill up as the shows are broadcast.

To record a series, open the show's details in the TV guide or My Upcoming Shows, then click Show Series Options, then ensure the options are as you'd like, then click Record Series.

Favourite

Favourites are just like series records, except they don't record. This is handy for keeping an eye on shows you might not want to record every episode... just certain episodes you haven't seen.

To set a show as a favourite, open the show's details in the TV guide or My Upcoming Shows, then click Add Favourite.

Keyword Record

Keyword Recordings are a great way to record shows by actor name, director name or by general concepts. Set up a Keyword Record for Ricky Gervais to record every movie or TV show staring Ricky Gervais. Set up a Keyword Recording for surfing to record every show that mentions the word "surfing" in the title or description.

To add a Keyword Record, search for something in the TV guide, then click on "Add a Keyword Record or Keyword Favourite", set the desired options (including setting Action to Record), then click Add Keyword Record.

More advanced users may wish to take advantage of quotes and minus symbols, allowing for powerful search terms. A search for Ricky Gervais will actually search for a match of Ricky AND Gervais. Quotes can be used for exact phrase matching. Searching for “Ricky Gervais” (with quotes in the actual search field) will search for the phrase Ricky Gervais. Minus (“-”) can be used to exclude words or phrases. Ricky Gervais -Office would search for all instances of Ricky AND Gervais that don't also contain Office.

Keyword Favourite

Keyword Favourites are just like Keyword Recordings, except they don't record. This is handy for keeping an eye on specific actors or concepts.

To add a Keyword Favourite, search for something in the TV guide, then click on "Add a Keyword Record or Keyword Favourite", set the desired options (including setting Action to Favourite), then click Add Keyword Favourite.

Keyword options

Device. This is the device you'd like to record to. You can have up to 3 devices per IceTV account.

Action. Set this to “Record” to record shows that match the search terms or “Favourite” to only display them in My Upcoming Shows.

Limit Results. This limits how many results per day. It's useful for searches that are likely to give a lot of results.

Quality. Setting the quality to “Standard Definition” will record only the standard definition version of the show if both a standard definition and high definition broadcast exists. If no standard definition version exists then the show will not record.

Setting the quality to “Prefer High Definition” will record only the high definition version of the show if both a standard definition and high definition broadcast exists. If only a standard definition version exists, then it will record.

What do all those icons mean?

Throughout this site we use icons next to program names to let you know why they might be important to you. All scheduled recordings and favourites will appear in My Upcoming Shows with all your other recordings, so you know when new episodes are being aired. That way you can decide to record or watch the episodes.
